| Allotropes
of carbon |
| The
phenomenon of different forms of an element
having different physical properties but similar
chemical properties is called allotropy. The
various forms are called allotropes. |
| Eg:
Carbon exists in three pure crystalline forms
––– Diamond, Graphite and Fullerenes. |
|
Allotropes of Carbon except diamond, graphite
and fullerenes all other forms are amorphous
allotropes of carbon. |
